Registered Psychologist and Behaviour Support Practitioner

Amour is a registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.

She completed her Bachelor of Psychology in 2019 and fulfilled a Masters of Psychology (Professional) in 2023. She has over 10 years experience working with children, teenagers and adults with autism spectrum disorders and their families. Amour has experience in the school settings conducting assessments for behavioural, cognitive and learning disorders. She has also conducted functional behavioural assessments to assist with classroom interventions and support teachers and education assistants in professional learning as well as developing practical and measurable goal orientated individual education plans. The therapy she has provided to students and school staff includes Solution Focussed Brief Therapy (SFBT), Interpersonal Therapy (ITP) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Amour has years of experience working as a senior developmental and behavioural therapist for children with developmental delays. Her experiences extend to working within trans-disciplinary teams using evidenced- based interventions, such as ABA, applied within a clinic, home and school setting. She has also worked extensively in a Positive Behaviour Support role, facilitating a person centred approach to understanding and supporting behaviours.

Amour has largely worked in a family support role, running multiple parent support and autism education groups. Her experiences involve working alongside state and national agencies in providing families who are experiencing grief or stress as a result of their child’s diagnosis with direct and group counselling. She has an interpersonal approach to her practice, often working closely with multiple members of her clients’ care team (parents, teachers, allied health professionals) which centres on the best outcomes for her clients.
